Knitted Cats

I'm sort of in a bummer mood today.  I wish I was home knitting up a cuddly friend to cheer me up.  And you know what would really cheer me up?  A knitted cat.  Did you know that I have an entire Pinterest board devoted to fiber-crafted cats?  True story.  It is called Fiberous Felines.  Here are some of my favorites from the board that I could really use a hug from right now....

(A lot of these don't have much of a source, so I'm just linking to the pin.   Perhaps you can research it from there.)

Here is a darling knitted kitty in a knitted sweater!

I love the shape of this cat!  (And if you like cat butts... then, well... there's this...)

Here are some adorable stacked cats:

These knitted cats are enjoying the view out the window:

And this little guy is just totally bad ass:

Finally, here is a very elaborate collection of knitted cats with clothes and accessories:

OK, there are still like ten more that I want to share with you, but I'll leave it at this... FOR NOW.

Feeling a little cheerier already!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all!  It's Monday, but I don't think I'll be posting a Maybe Monday feature.  Instead, I'm going to show you two projects that I finished up this weekend.

First, I finally finished the Mousseux shawl I am making for my mother.  It has an adorable picot bind off that took me forever to finish, but I think it was worth the effort.  Here is a picture of the shawl on the blocking board:

Second, I was commissioned to knit another pair of Hello Kitty Mitts, so here they are.... just as cute as the first pair!  (I won't be writing a separate FO post for these, since they are just a duplicate of the last pair).

Maybe Monday (It's Back!): TPHPE

After a few weeks off, I'm back with a new Maybe Monday!  Maybe Monday is a weekly feature on my blog where I talk about a pattern that I may (or may not) knit.

Today's pattern isn't so much about the pattern as it is about trying out a new technique: double knitting!  I've always wanted to try double knitting (and it's probably a technique that I should have mastered before I attempted the smokinskip scarf project) so I think it's time to give it a try in the near future.  Enter: The Prettiest Hot Pad Ever (TPHPE).  This is a very pretty, and very little, double knitting project that I think I may have to try out soon!

Why I Will Probably Knit It: It's a small project and a good opportunity to try out double knitting.  If I hate it, it will be over soon and I never have to do it again.

Why I May Not Go Through With It: I'm lazy and learning something new is hard.

See you next week!
